Sulfuric Acid, H₂SO₄, the most important oxygen-containing acid of sulfur, anhydrous sulfuric acid is a colorless oily liquid, crystallized at 10.36 ℃, boiling point 338 ℃, relative density is 1.84. Sulphuric acid is the most active binary inorganic strong acid, which can react with most metals. High concentration sulfuric acid has a strong water absorption and can be used as dehydrating agent. Carbohydrate-containing substances such as wood, paper, cotton and linen fabrics and skin and meat can be carbonized. When mixed with water, a large amount of heat is released. It has strong corrosiveness and oxidation, so it should be used cautiously.
