Hydrochloric Acid, HCl, relative molecular weight 36.46. Hydrochloric acid, commonly known as hydrochloric acid, is an aqueous solution of hydrogen chloride (HCl) gas and a colorless, transparent monobasic strong acid. Hydrochloric acid is an aqueous solution of hydrogen chloride with different concentration, transparent, colorless or yellow, has irritating odor and strong corrosiveness, and is easily soluble in water, ethanol, ether and oil. Concentrated hydrochloric acid is an aqueous solution containing 38% hydrogen chloride with a relative density of 1.19, a melting point of - 112 ℃ and a boiling point of - 83.7 ℃. Hydrochloric acid of 3.6 has a pH value of 0.1. Hydrochloric acid is highly volatile. When the container filled with concentrated hydrochloric acid is opened, the white fog rises, which is actually a small droplet of hydrochloric acid produced by the combination of hydrogen chloride volatilization products and water vapor in the air.
