Ammonia Solution, NH3·H2O, is an aqueous solution of ammonia, colorless, transparent and has a stimulating odor, weak alkaline. 25% of ammonia water has a relative density of 0.91, boiling point 38 C. Ammonia is easy to volatilize ammonia gas. The volatilization rate rises with the increase of temperature and storage time, and the volatilization amount increases with the increase of concentration. Ammonia has some corrosive effect and the corrosive ability of ammonia carbide water is much stronger. Its corrosion on copper is stronger, while on steel and cement is much weaker. It also has a corrosive effect on wood. Only a small part of ammonia molecule in ammonia water reacts with water to form ammonia hydrate, which is a weak alkali only existing in ammonia water. The coagulation point of ammonia is related to its concentration. The coagulation point of 20% concentration in common use (wt) is about - 35 ℃. It reacts with acid to produce heat. There is a danger of combustion and explosion.
